Quest For The Perfect Jeans

jeansNo matter your shape ladies, we all have struggled at some point and time, trying to find the perfect jeans that complements our bodies. There are actually a lot of things that goes into picking the right pair. For instance, there are many types of jeans to choose from. Tapered leg, boot cut, flare, low rise, skinny and stretch, just to name a few. But something to keep in mind while you are searching, is that you shouldn’t worry about the size but how they fit you and how they feel to you. Your size may vary from brand to brand.

I actually viewed a few shows that were talking about getting jeans that fit properly. Watching the Tyra Banks show, she suggested that women with a pear shaped bodies should avoid tapered leg because they make you look shorter and bigger. What they should look for instead are straight, boot cut and slight flare. For women who are curvier, they should get stretch jeans because it complements your figure and are comfortable to wear. I also happen to catch the Oprah Winfrey show where they were talking about “The Best Jeans for Every Body” with Stacy London. From what I remember she said women who are skinny or have a flat bottom should wear jeans with designs on the back pockets. But if you have a big butt then stay away from design on the pockets because that brings more attention to your rear end. I also remember from the Tyra Banks show to pay attention to where the pockets are placed because depending on how high or low the pockets are they give off a certain look. If you are flat in your trunk you want high pockets. And if you have a big butt then you want bigger pockets because smaller pockets make you appear even larger. I didn’t remember everything Stacy London shared on the Oprah show I decided to check out Oprah.com to see if they were any tips.

A brief review of what she did discuss was for tall women, many companies are starting to acknowledge tall women and their need for long length so they are not flooding all the time.  For petite women, stay away from cuffs and boot cut jeans because they make you look short. The best jeans for petite women are straight leg because they can be shortened and re-hemmed if necessary. For women with a tummy, a boot cut jean can help cut the mid section and aim for the mid- rise because it is more flattering for your body. But women with thicker limbs shouldn’t avoid boot cut. Women with wide hips should wear mid-rise, straight leg or trousers because it creates longer looking leg.  If you have a big butt you can get jeans that are lower rise in the front and higher rise in the back. And if your torso is long and your legs are short but you are still a tall person, than Stacy suggest you shop in the petite section, especially if it fit everywhere but the rise area.  So remember to be patient it may take some time to find the right pair, but I hope this helps in steering you in the right direction, because unfortunately they do not make one size fit all jeans that actually do what they claim to do. So try, try and try again, and eventually you will find those perfect jeans.
