“Everyday people really don’t get to see themselves at their maximum potential. My goal is to accentuate the beauty that everyone already has through the art of makeup.” LaToya Perry is a Chicago based professional makeup artist and has worked for many notable cosmetic companies such as Chanel, MAC and Prescriptives. While being in the industry for several years, she has received many certifications and extensive training from some of the top instructors in the business and eventually became a manager for the No. 1 Custom Blending Counter in the nation. After proving herself as an in-house artist, her expertise and ambition has driven her to pursue a distinguished freelance career, thus allowing her to further build a diverse portfolio to include print, commercial, runway, film and television. Besides LaToya’s artistic ability, her magnetic personality and professionalism makes her an asset to Vous Etes Belle or any production team.

Percis has been doing hair ever since she could remember. Whether it was everyday hair, or something more extravagant, Percis was doing it. Percis graduated from Mario Tricoci University of Beauty Culture in Chicago. This opened many doors for her in the beauty industry. She been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to watch and learn from professionals at work. She enjoy putting her own creative style into her work. She learned that whatever the style maybe, it looks best when your own creative twist is added to it. “The most rewarding part of my work is seeing guests ecstatic about their new look that you have just helped them achieve. I hope to use these talents God blessed me with for Him, and to benefit of others.”

Afrobelle is a new column that will feature a weekly article by one of my writers. She is a 23 year old Nigerian-American who also hails from Chicago. Our friendship dates back to our childhood, and she has been writing for as long as I can remember. She has a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. The articles in Afrobelle’s column will be similar to the articles you are used too. However, they will be more personal, blog or journal style entries. You can expect the same great beauty tips and empowering messages…that is the Vous Etes Belle standard. Afrobelle will highlight some of our interests, i.e. culture, community, current events and how they relate to beauty. Afrobelle is just an invitation to get to know us better. And I do mean all of us.
I hope you enjoy it!
Michelle Perry
